The Battle is Not Yours!

lion_of_judah_10II Chronicles 20: 15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

It is amazing what prayer, praise and worship will do. It calms the spirit and opens the channel of communication between you and the LORD. King Jehoshaphat was told that there were several armies joined together to do battle against Judah. Because they were afraid, all the men with their wives and children from all the cities of Judah gathered together to seek the LORD’s guidance. Jehoshaphat reminded God of His promise to hear their prayers and to help them in the time of trouble. Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel saying, “Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s”. The LORD told them that they would not have to fight, but to go to the battlefield and He would be with them. The people were encouraged to believe and trust in the Lord, so that their position in Him would be established and to believe the Word spoken by his prophets, so that they would prosper. Next, the king appointed singers unto the Lord to praise the LORD as they went out to the battlefield. They sang, “Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever”. The LORD set ambushments against their enemies and the armies turned on themselves and began to kill each other. When the army of Judah arrived at the battlefield, their enemies were all dead. Anxiety has had the opportunity to overtake us all on many occasions, but God! From Judah’s experience, we learn the following: 1.) Prayer, praise and singing, and worship is a family affair. 2.) The Spirit of the LORD will come upon us if we will receive Him. 3.) The battle is not ours, so we don’t have to fight. 4.) God honors our obedience. 5.) When we believe and put our trust in God, He will fight our battles for us. 5.) God is faithful. 6.) He will hear and answer our prayers.   7.) He is always with us, especially in the time of trouble, when we are positionally in right-standing with Him.

Prayer for today: Father, you are faith and your promises are true. I will praise the beauty of holiness, as I go before my enemies saying, “Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever”, for you are with me. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
