The LORD Knows How

I Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: 

We all will face trials and temptations but if we are willing, God will deliver us out of them all.  Understand that punishment is reserved for the Day of Judgement.  God is not punishing you.  It only feels like punishment because of the consequences of trying to face trials and temptations without the LORD.  The ISV reads the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials and to hold unrighteous people for punishment on the Day of Judgment.  God knows how to deliver and He knows how to judge.  God knew how to rescue Noah and his family from the 40 day and night flood.  He told Noah to build an ark.  The unrighteous people were locked out of the ark and reserved for the day of judgment.  The Lord delivered Lot and his daughters from the sin-sick cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  He provided a way of escape.  But the unrighteous people were held for punishment on the day of judgment.  Won’t you consider being in the group that God rescues?  When the righteous cry (pray), the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.  Deliverance requires repentance (confessing and asking for forgiveness) and living what God recognizes as a reverent, devout, godly lifestyle.

Prayer for today:  Father, as Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him, I ask for the help of Holy Spirit to live in such a way that you consider my lifestyle godly.  In JESUS name, AMEN. 

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
