Love Lends

Lend Children to the LordI Samuel 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.

A loving mother gives her children back to the LORD. Hannah prayed for a child, for she was barren. God remembered her prayers and blessed her with a son. She dedicated her unborn child to the LORD. After she weaned him, she took him to the temple where he served the LORD. Giving our children back to the LORD for His use is the best thing we can do for our children. God has the perfect plan for them. One scripture says, “Trying to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. This scripture could be rendered, “Trying to hang on to your children, you will lose them. But if you give up your children for my sake, you will save them.” When we give them to LORD, we demonstrate to Him that we trust Him. We can be confident of this one thing: that God will begin and continue to do a good work in them and carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Giving them to the LORD does not mean that we are losing them. It means that we are placing them in the best possible care. My husband and I were made aware that no matter how hard we tried, we could not take care of our children the way the LORD could. We were led by the Holy Spirit to give them unto the LORD. Hannah said, “‘For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition. …Therefore I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord’”. A loving mother will lend her children to the LORD.
