Who Are The Just?

Shield of Faith - fierydartsHebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

This scripture is written to Christians to encourage us while at the same time to admonish us.   1.) You are encouraged to live by faith.  The scripture says the just shall live by faith.  Who are the just?  They are those who have conformed to the image of Christ, and who have been predestined and called by Him.  The just are those who Christ have made righteous.  Those who have become a new creature in Christ, whereby the old you have passed away and the new you have come.  It is possible for the new you to exist because Christ made Himself be sin for you so that you might become the righteousness of God in Him.  The just are those who Christ have defended, declared innocent, and acquitted of sin.  2.) You are encouraged to patiently persevere until Christ comes again.  The just are those who refuse to throw away their confidence, which is their shield in wartime to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  The just are those who know that when Christ returns, He will reward them for consistently doing the will of God in the face of adversity.  3.) You are warned not to draw back, but rather to stay in faith.  To draw back means to return to our previously destructive sinful ways.   In the face of adversity, Peter drew back by denying Jesus three times.  At one time or another, all have sinned by denying the faith or not sharing the word of God or not taking a stand for Christ as we played the role of a “Secret Service Christian”.  God has called believers to live by faith, to be patient, and to never draw back from Him.  Be encouraged; be confident; be the just who live by faith.

Prayer for today:  Father, I humbly surrender my life unto you.   According to your word, I declare that I am the just and I live by faith.  By the power of Holy Spirit, I stand my ground in faith for the cause of Christ.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
