He Shall Save His People

Safe la-sp-world-series-24-20131025Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

There is power in the name of Jesus, the power to save. He is Yeshua, the Messiah, the Saviour. The angel of the LORD told Joseph to call His name Jesus. For He is sent from the Father to save people by dying on the cross to redeem them; to give Holy Spirit to renew them; to enable them by His power to overcome their spiritual enemies, to defend them in danger, to guide them in the path of duty, to sustain them in trials and in death; and to raise them up to a world of purity and love. Jesus’ coming and dying was not to save people in their sins but from their sins. True salvation is evidenced by being saved from the power and dominion of sin. Unless we strive daily to attain to God’s standards and renounce the pleasures of this world, which are in contradiction to God’s word, there will be no evidence that we are the children of God. This is a hard saying, but this is why Jesus was sent: John 3:7-9 (NLT) “Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God”. What great love the Father has for us that He gave His only begotten Son to die in our place. Shall we continue to sin? Of course, we shouldn’t. However, if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. We are reminded by I John 1:9 to confess our sins and be to cleanse from all unrighteousness. Jesus is Saviour; He shall save and or restore those who ask Him.

Prayer for today: Father, I confess that I have not been attentive to what you have called me to be and do. Forgive my sins.  Thank you for forgiving me. Right now I profess faith in Jesus Christ as my Saviour, and Lord and the Restorer of His righteousness in me. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
