What Happens When There is Little or No Knowledge? Part 6

Rejection-SocialHosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The lack and rejection of the knowledge of God by Israel led to the following:  1.) Experiencing destruction; 2.) Being cut off from the blessings of God; 3.) Going into captivity; 4.) Toiling without favorable results.    5.) Being thirsty without the ability to quench it.  Next, we will look at the sixth thing that happened as a result of Israel’s choices.  6.) Being rejected by God.  No one relishes the idea of being rejected, not even God.  Israel’s rejection of the knowledge of God and disobedience to that which they knew about God caused Him to allow them to wander in the wilderness for 40 years.  Moses called the children of Israel a rebellious and stiff-necked people because they did not honor the law of their God.  They were foolish and vain in their imaginations.  They dishonored their own bodies and did not retain the knowledge of God.  Because they rejected knowledge, God declared that He would also reject them, and would not allow them to minister unto Him.  Israel had become a sinful nation.  Ecclesiastes tells us that there is nothing new under the sun.  Therefore, we see the same sinful deeds in our nation today.  But you beloved, you who have received Jesus Christ as your Saviour and LORD have not been rejected by God.  You have been set apart to be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.  God saved you by his grace through faith in His dear Son, Jesus Christ.  You have been made right in God’s sight by faith.  Therefore, the peace of God and everything pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him is yours because of what Jesus Christ your LORD has done for you.  Choose wisely; choose to know God and to be accepted and made right in His sight.  Tomorrow we will look at the seventh consequence of lack and the rejection of the knowledge of God.

Prayer for today:  Father, as I hide your word in my heart, increase my knowledge of you.  By the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask you to help me to walk in the revelation knowledge of you.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
