Acceptance is Key, Part 4

I Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

There are four things that you must be fully persuaded of. 4.) You must be fully persuaded that followers of Christ are careful to engage in good deeds and are rewarded accordingly. Accepting and maintaining your responsibility to do good deeds have a threefold purpose. That is, it is profitable for others, your heavenly Father, and you. 1.) It is profitable for others. Jesus called you are the light of the world. As such, the light of Christ shining in you will cause you to glow showing others what Christ is like. The light of your faith and proclamation that Jesus Christ, your Saviour and LORD saves wins souls. The word of God washes and cleanses, repairs and restores, and snatches people out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light unto eternal life. 2.) It is profitable to your heavenly Father. He is glorified by your good deeds. Jesus gave himself to redeem us from every kind of evil work and cleansed us so that we could be his special people who are enthusiastic about and totally committed to doing good deeds. Jesus’ work is the perfect example: He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind both physically and spiritually, feed the multitudes both physically and spiritually, extended His love and tender mercies to others. These are just of few of the things He did. By the power of Holy Spirit, we are to do the same. 3.) It is profitable to you. When Christ saved you, He moved you from a life marred by sin and darkness to a life that is conscience of the leading of Holy Spirit. God’s desire for you to do good deeds became your desire as well. Your good deed is your personal ID (identification) card to the world. Though good deeds will not save you, it is, however, an indicator of your love and faith for Christ. Your acceptance of the saving work of Christ in your life and doing all that you do as unto the LORD for His glory is key to your profitability. You will gain eternal life and all the blessings of the LORD will make you rich in every area of your life if you lay hold of them by faith. You are encouraged to keep on doing that which is good. Keep on keeping on even, when you do not feel like it. God has promised that in due time you shall reap the bountifulness of His harvest if you do not faint. God is faithful to His word.

Prayer for today: Father, I accept my responsibility to engage in and maintain good deeds not because doing so will save me, but because I love you and desire to glorify you. Thank you for Holy Spirit, who is my help to follow through and not get weary in well doing. In JESUS name, AMEN.
