God Knows When and He Knows How

Hourglass Ikepod-Hourglass-6Exodus 6:10-11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 11Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

Why is it that when you have heard clearly from the LORD either by His word (Bible), or by the word of prophecy, or by Holy Spirit speaking to your spirit (heart), or through godly counsel, the results are not always instantaneous? Well, I submit you that sometimes what you heard was for a future time. Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a season and a time for everything under heaven. Our timing is not God’s timing. Why? God is the author of time and He is not bound by it, we are. Though the message is clear, sometimes more preparation on our part is needed to carry out God’s plan. Preparation time is not lost or wasted time. We must be equipped to carry out the work of the ministry and built up in the body of Christ through the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God so that we may become mature in Christ. II Timothy tells us to study to show ourselves approved unto God. Sometimes the results involve waiting on other people to line up with the word of God. Moses clearly heard his assignment from the LORD, but he had to wait on Pharaoh to line up for the results. The Israelites were in slavery down in Egypt. After hearing their cries for deliverance, God sent Moses to Pharaoh to tell him to let His people go. Pharaoh would not for his heart was hardened against God and he refused to align himself with God’s word. The LORD asked Pharaoh through Moses, “How long will you refuse to submit to me? Of course, God knew the answer. However, after many plagues and the arrival of the death angel in Egypt, Pharaoh finally submitted to the LORD. He let the Israelites go. It took Moses many trips to Egypt to accomplish his assignment with the desired results. The lessons to be learned are to be obedient and to stick with God’s plan no matter how long it takes. Though what you heard from the LORD may not happen instantly, don’t give up. God is continually working behind the scenes to see to it that what you heard from Him will come to past. There is an appointed time for you to receive your blessed results from carrying out God’s plan. Holy Spirit, your helper will help you and God will deliver the results. Don’t get discouraged or fretful. God knows when and He knows how.
