Every-Day Patience

PatienceI Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Paul’s observation of the brethren in Thessalonica compelled him to continue with the outline of the 22 commands and admonitions.  (Continuation from the title:  “What Does Your Faith Meter Say About You?”)  10.) Warn the unruly and disorderly within the church to perform their and duties and to live a Christ-centered life.  11.)  Console the fainthearted.  12.) Support and or sustain the weak is mentioned again to stress that point that you should not do those things that may cause those weak in faith to become confused, stumble and fall away from the faith.  13.) Be patient with all men.  Patience is a virtue.  You are not necessarily born with it.  It is, however, listed as a fruit of the Spirit.  Patience has to be cultivated.  Satan will circle the ground of your heart to test you to see if have any patience.  If you look at patience as something to be grown, you will not become offended.  Water your patience with the word of God, daily.  Then Holy Spirit will remind you of the following:  Patience is longsuffering and forbearing of one another in love; Patience is quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.  Patience does not get weary in well doing and so much more.  Every day is a day that you will be given an opportunity to grow your patience.  To be continued.

Prayer for today:  Father, thank you for Holy Spirit, who helps me to remember not become offended, to recognize the tests, and to continually cultivate my patience with Your word.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
