Faithful and True

lily_flower_white_lily_221867Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

There are five sure things you can count on: 1) The LORD your God is God. 2.) He is the faithful God. 3.) He keeps His promises to His people. 4.) He shows mercy (kindness, favor and love) to them that love Him and keep His commandments. 5.) He keeps covenant and shows love to a thousand generations. The LORD God will never fail you. When God makes a promise, He keeps it. He watches over His word to see that His word is fulfilled. The LORD declared unto Israel that He did not choose them to be His people because they were more in number than any other people. Actually, they were fewer in number. He chose them because He loved them and had sworn an oath unto their fathers to bring them out of the house of bondage. Everyone who is being led by the Spirit of God is a son of God. Sons of God have not received a spirit of slavery but have received a spirit of adoption as sons. The Spirit Himself testifies with your spirit that you are a child of God. As such, you have been given all the rights and privileges of a son. You are now His people and bondage of any kind has no power over you unless you give it power. Know this beloved, God’s love for you is intense, personal, and sincere and nothing can separate you from His love. Whatever the LORD your God promised His people is yours because you are now His people through faith in Jesus Christ. Not only that: the LORD’s promises extend to a thousand generations. If you love God and keep His command, you and your children to a thousand generations are under the LORD’s covenant promise of love and mercy and all that that entails. Your God is faithful and His promises are true. Isn’t that awesome? Hallelujah!

Prayer for Today:   Father, you are faithful and your covenant is true. By faith, I have received a spirit of adoption and you are my God and I am your daughter (son). I thank you that my family and I are under your covenant to a thousand generations. In JESUS name, AMEN.
