Forgive and Move On

forgive-and-forgetGenesis 50:17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father.

Forgiveness can be very hard, but it doesn’t have to be. Joseph was asked by his father to forgive his brothers and the servants of God for the sins and the wrongs they committed by treating him so badly. While studying, I ran across this anonymous saying: “I don’t forgive people because I am weak. I forgive them because I am strong enough to accept the fact that people make mistakes”. The All-powerful, Omnipotent One, God our Father gives the strength to forgive and move on. Little did they know that what they meant for evil against Joseph, God meant for good. God used Joseph to save the people alive during the seven years of famine. Don’t be discouraged when evil is directed toward you. Just know that God knew it was going to happen. He is depending on you to be the stronger person. Forgive so that He may do a mighty work in you for the benefit of others. Forgive and move on.

Prayer for today: Father God thank you for strengthening me when I am treated poorly. Thank you for the power of forgiveness. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
