Reversing Hopelessness

depressionPsalms 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

When all seems hopeless, do not despair.  Things only look hopeless when you are in the midst of the battle, but they are not.  Hopelessness is a form of fear (false evidence appearing real).  The Psalmist asked himself repeatedly, “Why am I discouraged? Why is my soul cast down?  Why am I depressed? Then he concluded that the solution to his problem was to put your hope in God and to praise his Savior and LORD.  Isaiah tells us that those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary; they will walk and not grow tired.  Fear and fatigue cause hopelessness.  God promised to be with you in the midst of it all.  When you put you hope in God, He will bring you out unscabbed and refreshed.  Hope thou in God.
