Sensuous Love

The third category of love is Éros, that physical, sensual, intimate love and sexual passion between a husband and his wife.  The Song of Solomon expresses sexual arousal and excitement for one’s spouse. God commanded Adam and Eve, man and woman, in the bonds of marital unity to be fertile, increase in number and fill the earth.  Concerning Eros love, Paul’s advice is this, “… if you cannot control your desires, you should get married. It is better for you to marry than to burn with sexual desire”.  Misplaced sexual desire, according to James, is when it drags you away, entice and bait you to commit sin by your own worldly desire, lust and passion.  Afterwards, when the illicit desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death.  Eros love is powerful when embraced in the bonds of marriage, but very dangerous when embraced outside of marriage.  The LORD’s right arm of righteousness embraces and keeps us from falling into the trap of sinful love.

Prayer for today:  Father, thank you for your right arm of righteousness.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
