Gentleness – A Daily Work

gentlenessPhilippians 4:5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Moderation in this scripture is defined as mild, gentleness, thoughtfulness, and considerate.  Paul said to the Ephesians church, “Let your gentleness be known to all men …”  We know that gentleness is not a virtue that the world is known for.  The world sees gentleness as a weakness rather than a strength.  However, to God, a person with His character trait of gentleness is someone who is strong, secure and mature.  Proverbs 15:1 reads, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”   When people encounter you, do they walk away thinking that you are a gentle giant? Or do they say that you are a harsh tyrant?  According to Randy Frazee gentleness is an external fruit. Everyone you encounter will eat it; if it is sour they will know it; if it is sweet, they will know it.  Gentleness (thoughtfulness, considerateness, and calmness) is a daily work.  Let the strength of your gentleness be known unto all men, especially to those you love.

Prayer for today:  Father, by the power of Holy Spirit, I shall work the good work of strengthening my gentleness, daily.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
