How Many Times?

great-is-his-mercy-500x386Nehemiah 9:28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies;

The LORD is the Deliverer: that is His nature and that is just what He does.  Prayers have ascended to heaven vowing to never do this or that again if the LORD would deliver from present trouble.   Nehemiah, reading from the book of the law of the LORD their God, reminded Israel of the many times their forefathers were disobedient and rebelled against God.  He delivered them from captivity many times.  God shielded them from the scorching sun and kept them warm at night. God gave them bread from heaven and water out of a rock to sustain them.  Yet each time they cried unto God, He delivered them according to His mercies.  However, after they were delivered and rested from their troubles, they returned to doing evil against God.  To be disobedient is to resist God’s way of doing things.  Resisting His way leads us into the trouble that He intended for us to avoid.  Our vision is impaired; His is not! How many times has God delivered you? Selah (pause and think about it).  God’s way is always the best way.

Prayer for today:  Father the number of times you have delivered me is too numerous to count.   But I thank you that you are my Deliverer.   In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
