It’s Restoration Time!

proverbs-22-4Humility is sometimes translated as gentleness and oft times there is a struggle in the spirit to be either, humble or gentle.  God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. God can take down those who are proud and raise up those who are humble and reverent toward Him.  King Nebuchadnezzar was arrogant and proud.  His kingdom had grown and become strong and his dominion reached to the end of the earth.  One night he had a dream and his counsellors could not give the interpretation, so he sent for Daniel.  Daniel told the King that his kingdom would be taken from Him, not by his enemies but by the LORD, that he would become wet with the dew of heaven, live with the wild animals and eat grass with oxen until seven periods of time pass by.  Daniel also told him that his kingdom would be restored to him if he acknowledged that it is the God of heaven who rules and if he would stop being sinful, do what is right, give up his evil practices and be humble showing kindness to those whom he treated poorly. The king did not accept Daniel’s interpretation.  Instead, he boasted saying, “Isn’t this the great Babylon I have built as a place for my royal palace? I used my mighty power to build it. It shows how glorious my majesty is.”  Beware, it is not wise to take the credit, which is due God.  Twelve months later, the King’s dream came true.  When he came to himself and humbled himself, he recognized God’s power and began to praise God and give Him honor and glory.  God restored Nebuchadnezzar’s riches, honor and life.  God wants to restore unto you everything that honors Him and it does not matter whether it was taken from you or gave it away.  Your reward is waiting.  “It’s restoration time”!
