Authorized to Shine

Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; (NASB)

God’s commands, prophecies yet unfulfilled, and promises must be lifted off the pages of the Bible and ingested for the purpose of hiding and maintaining them in your heart. The entrance of God’s word into the heart gives light; it gives understanding. God’s word is a lamp to guide your feet so that you may stay on the lighted path. Dorothy in the classic story, The Wizard of Oz, was commanded to stay on the “Yellow Brick Road” and it would lead her home. It is interesting that the road was yellow like the sun. Yellow is very visible to the natural eye even in the dark. Whenever Dorothy and her companions strayed from the “Yellow Brick Road” they were met with trouble. You are commanded to follow the S-O-N, not the yellow brick road, or the s-u-n, for Jesus said, “I am the light of the world…” When you are carefully following Jesus, you will not walk in darkness and you will have the Light of life leading you to your eternal home with your Heavenly Father. Concerned about being left in darkness, Jesus assured the disciples that God the Father would send another guiding Light, which is Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit came as a permanent light to live on the inside of you, to shine from in the inside out. The Light was supernaturally transferred to you when you received Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and LORD. Now that you, who believe are the light of the world, you are commanded to let your light shine before others in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father, who is in heaven. You have been authorized to shine, now shine!

Prayer for today: Father, I recognize that I must walk in the authorization that you have given me. I ask for a daily anointing of Holy Ghost power to let my light shine before others and to bring glorify you. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
