A Hoe or a Water Hose, What Do You Need?

If your assignment is to plant, then plant. If your assignment is to water the seed that has been planted, then water. Never feel rejected when your purpose is to enlighten someone with the Word of God. Remember: Jesus could do no mighty works in His own homeland because of the people’s unbelief. It is not you that is being rejected. It the saving grace of Jesus Christ that is being rejected, His lifestyle, and His kingdom way of doing things. When you cannot plant or water because a person’s fallow and hardened heart, shake the dust off of your feet and move on. If that person is not willing to receive Jesus and His finished work of salvation, you say, “Next!” and move on to someone else. However, if the fallow ground of the heart has been broken up and ready to receive, plant. Paul said that he planted, Apollos watered; but it is God who makes the seed grow. How will you know your assignment? The Holy Spirit will speak to your spirit with your instructions. He will tell you when a person needs the word planted in him or her. He will also tell you when a person needs that seed watered. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see the growth in his or her life. Without the knowledge of who is doing what, the one who plants and the one who waters are working together for the same purpose. What is important to remember is that it is God who gives the increase. For it is God who transforms the mind of a person through his faith in Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of that person. The good news for the one who plants and the one who waters is that God will reward them for their good works. Today is a good day to plant and or water based upon your assignment. Do you know how and where you will be working today? Ask God to order your steps. Holy Spirit will surely tell you where you will be working, whether you need a hoe or a water hose and what ground to work in.

Prayer for Today:   Father, you said you have not given me a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. So, I’m asking, “Do I need a hoe or a water hose to carry out my assignment today? By the power of Holy Spirit, I say that I am a godly successful planter or water person or both. In JESUS name. AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
