Don’t Wear Another Man’s Clothes to Battle

I Samuel 17:38 And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.

As David was preparing to go to battle against Goliath, Saul clothed David with his clothes. Can you see the cute, ruddy youth trying to wear Saul’s adult-sized bronze helmet and armour? Not a good fit. David said, “I cannot go with these; for I have not proved (tested or tried) them.” He had, however, tried the LORD in battle and prevailed. So he put on the LORD, who had delivered him in the past and he gathered together his anointed equipment of warfare: his staff, five smooth stones, and his sling and stepped out on faith to do battle the LORD’s way. When you go to do battle with your Goliath, remember three things: the battle is not your, it’s the LORD’s but you must show up at the battle site; you are not fighting against flesh and blood, but rather, wickedness in high places; and you must put on the whole armor of God so that you will be able to repel the fiery darts of the wicked one. Be careful not to go to battle with another man’s unproven battle garments, go in the ONE who you have tried, the ONE who all your victories have come through, the LORD of Heaven’s Army.

Prayer for today: Father, I put you on, and I know from past experiences that you have always caused me to triumph in Christ Jesus. Thank you for deliverance. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept his grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
