Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

Chronological age is not a predictor of spiritual maturity. Sound doctrine regarding Christian living should be taught at all ages. In the same manner that old men are taught the fundamentals of Christian living, older women are to be taught as well. As older women are taught and become spiritually mature, they are encouraged to teach younger women. The qualities of a good teacher are as follows: She is one who shows reverence for God by her behavior. She lets the word of Christ dwell in her in all wisdom. She controls her tongue to abstain from participating in gossip by the power of Holy Spirit. She is not addicted to strong substances or negative people.   She lives her life in such a way that God considers her holy unto Him. As she matures in these areas Holy Spirit will empower her to become a godly teacher of younger women. Practical as well as spiritual things should be taught to younger women. Teach them, for example: to love their husbands. Let’s take a side journey here. I know that submission to the modern day wife is a bone of contention. Submit is the Greek word hypotássō – hypó, “under” and tássō, “arrange” – properly, “under God’s arrangement,” i.e. submitting to the Lord (His plan). As a submarine goes under water, God’s plan is for wives to go under the leadership of their husbands. Notice that Ephesians 5:21 tells us to submit to one another out of reverence to Christ. Dake renders it, “Let no man be stubborn in his opinion to disturb the peace of the church” nor his home. Wives are joint heirs of the grace of life with their husbands and husbands are to treat them as such.   Therefore, a wife is to submit, to go under, to yield to her husband, not as a doormat to be trampled upon by her husband, but rather, to submit to him as unto the LORD by respecting his position. So, I encourage wives to ask God to give their husbands wisdom according to James 1:5 to operate in their position, daily. In Part 4, we will continue our study on the practical and spiritual things that older women should impart to younger women thereby giving us all an opportunity to write or rewrite the pages of our lives.
