Be Specific

Archery_Mark 10:51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

If Jesus had to ask, “What do you want me to do for you”? it was an indicator that prayer is most often too vague.  My husband, Dave, always says, “I write for results”.  The target of prayer should be for results, as well.  Praying, “LORD, bless my family and me” is not specific enough.  The purpose of specificity in prayer is not for God’s benefit because He already knows what you want.  Rather, specificity is for you.  If you do not know or are not specific in prayer, how will you know if your prayer has been specifically answered?  When prayer is not specific, the LORD is denied the praise, honor, and glory that are due to Him.  The blind man prayed, “LORD have mercy on me”.  Too vague? Yes.  When Jesus asked him to be more specific, he said, “Lord, I want to see.”  Notice, asking specifically for what he wanted coupled with his faith in the LORD resulted in him receiving his sight.  So, when the LORD asks you the question, how will you respond?

Prayer for today:  Father, I ask that the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ be revealed and received by my entire family.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
