The Wise and the Foolish Builders

The Wise and Foolish Builders hqdefaultLuke 6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

Jesus painted two vivid pictures for us so that we could see and make a decision regarding which builder we will choose to emulate.  The first is of the one who hears Jesus’ sayings and make a conscience decision to do what He says.  This person is the one who dug deep to secure a rock solid foundation.  Mississippi is known for its Yazoo Clay (moving soil).  A good builder will drive pilings, piers or stilts deep into the ground until he finds stability before he builds a house.  In the same way, this picture shows us a man who dug deep to secure the rock-solid foundation upon which to build his life structure.  When the storms of life beat upon him, he was not shaken.  He had built his life upon the power of Christ through faith unto salvation and governed his life accordingly.  The second picture is of a man who heard Jesus’ saying, but did not do them.  Consequently, his life structure was built upon a sandy foundation, which had no stabilizing power and changed with popular opinion.  Every time the storms beat down upon his life structure, it collapsed.  He was always found in a constant state of rebuilding.  Two pictures have been set before you, “Wise” and “Foolish”.  If you have not built your structure, choose and begin today.

Scripture References:  Luke 6:46-49

Prayer for today:  Father, I choose to build my life structure upon the rock-solid foundation of Jesus Christ through faith unto salvation.    In JESUS’ name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
