Children of God

children-of-godI John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.  First, let’s explore the relationship:  Proof of being God’s child, born again, is Christ abiding (living, dwelling, taking up residence) in you and you abiding in Christ; a true fellowship one with another.  Second, the word “know” is used twice: the first know: eidos means to consider, be aware, perceive, understand and the second know: ginosko means to be resolved, to be sure, to “know” absolutely.   Visual proof of being born again is the right conduct of life and good deeds.  This verse is often misunderstood because some have the misconception that because I am a good person, who does good things, I am born again, in right standing with God and I am saved.  True faith by true believers (Christians) will always result in good deeds and behavior.  Absent abiding in Christ, good deeds alone cannot save you or give you the privilege of being God’s child.  Salvation is the gift of God given by his grace when one believes.  It is not a reward for doing good deeds.  Therefore, no one can take credit for this awesome gift and privilege by doing good deeds.  By God’s standards, is there visual proof that you are a child of God?  or Are you busy doing good deeds only?

Prayer for today:  Father, I praise you for the awesome gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I have considered and am absolutely sure that according to your word, I am born again.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
