Love and Peace

In a farewell letter to the Corinthians, Paul exhorts them to live in such a way that they may experience God’s love and peace. He says this is how you invoke the presence of God’s love and peace in every situation. First, be perfect, which is to say, be God’s tapestry of love by continually being knitted together with other believers in the perfect agape love of God without conditions. Second, be of good comfort. The Holy Spirit is your comforter and strengthener, who will settle you, and put your mind at ease when trouble arises.   Third, be of one mind, which is to say, eliminate the drama and promote unity with other believers by having the mind of Christ. Fourth, make peace your lifestyle. As much as possible be at peace with all men so as to avoid alienation of affection among the brethren. The understood subject in each of these exhortations is you. God is the God of love and peace. He will not fail you. He shall be with you as you take hold of these instructions.

Prayer for today: Father, your love and peace is what I long for. Help me, I pray, to live in such a way that I may experience your love and peace all day, every day. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
