Wisdom for Dummies

Dummy 41unKcMGU5LProverbs 8:1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Wisdom has a voice. She speaks to the simple. Simple in this text refers to the unsuspecting, those who, through lack of knowledge and experience act rashly and unwisely and or are inconsiderate. She speaks to fools. Fools in this text refer to those dull of senses, a stupid, insensitive or unimaginative person. Wisdom calls out to each of these persons. She helps the simple gain wisdom and for the fool, she works on the heart so that it will open up to understanding and take root and grow. Wisdom positions herself on the top of high places, crossroads, gates, broad-roads, and at the doors. At some point in life, we will all enter into the valley of decisions. Wisdom will guide us away from the wrong path and guide us into right decisions if she is allowed to do so. No matter where we are, wisdom is there. James reminds us that whether we are a simpleton or a fool, all we need to do is to ask God, who gives to all men wisdom freely and without reproach.  Proverbs tell us that reverence for God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
