Who or What Will You Serve?

God-and-moneyMatthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Split loyalty is no loyalty at all. Double-mindedness is not faith. Faith does not concern itself with what things look like because it realizes that things are temporary and subject to change. Therefore, faith does not worry or get involved in chasing money. Jesus said, “No man can serve two masters …” The implication is that serving two masters, God and money, is an impossibility and split loyalty. You will love and enjoy doing the one and grudgingly hate doing the other. Love and hate are strong words, always in opposition to each other. It is not God’s will for us to be strung-out between Him and money. Jesus said, “…take no thought for tomorrow…” Instead, make God’s kingdom and His righteousness your priority and all the things you need will be added to your account. Father God, your Master will take care of all of your tomorrows, financially and otherwise.

Prayer for today: Father, I bind the spirit of split loyalty and double-mindedness. I declare by faith that I will serve God.   In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
