The Bigger Man

biggermanGenesis 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

It is better to live in peace with your brother, sister, wife, etc. than to be at war. There is no advantage to living in strive. Strife is quarreling, provocation, finding fault, and or laying blame. Strife gives Satan an advantage over you. As long as he can keep you at odds with one another, he is able to disturb and or block the flow of God’s blessings to you.   Who is able to be the bigger man? It is the man who seeks peace with God and man, the man who takes the initiative to foster peace. Abram said, “Let there be not strife, I pray thee, between me and thee…” God is against strife. According to Colossians 3:12-14 AMP, He commands you to put on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper]. Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].  And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]. You say, “Yeah, but you don’t know what he did to me.” True, I don’t know but God does. It does not matter, peace has its rewards. Be the bigger man.

Prayer for today: Father, I bind the spirit of strife. Help me, I pray to always be the bigger man by becoming Colossians 3:12-14 in every situation.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
