Need Him When Needed

God-My-Patience1-800x535John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

It is generally difficult for students to adjust to a new teacher or even a substitute teacher when their old teacher leaves them.  Many are left with questions such as:  Will he/she care about me like my old teacher did?  Will he/she test me to see my strengths or my weaknesses?  Will he/she help me when I really need help?  Jesus, the disciple’s Master teacher told them that He was going to leave them.  Thomas expressed the concern that the other disciples had about Jesus leaving them.  To calm their hearts, Jesus told them that the Father, God would send the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost in His place to represent Him and to act on His behalf.  To assure them that they would never be left alone, Jesus explained the various functions of Holy Spirit by His names:  He is the Comforter.  Sometimes you will need Him as your Counselor.  Other times you will need Him as your Helper.  Still other times you will need Him as your Intercessor to pray to the Father for you when you simply don’t know what to pray.  Sometimes you will need Him as your Advocate, your lawyer, in the court of opinion. Life happenings will cause you to need Him as your Strengthener to endure hardships like a soldier.  He will always be needed as your Standby through good and difficult times.  Holy Spirit will teach you all things. He will cause you to recall everything Jesus told you in His word.  Employ the power of Holy Spirit according to your need to cancel the feeling of being alone or to cancel all the troubles that try to attach itself to your heart.

Prayer for today:  Father, I thank you that I am never alone.  Thank you for sending Holy Spirit to live in me.  I am grateful that He counsels, helps, prays, defends, strengthens and stands by me.  He is my Comforter.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
