Teaching from Your Book of Life, Part 10: Create Your Own Book of Life

Wedding LatinoTitus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

In Part 9, we studied teaching younger women to be good.  We will continue with older women are to teach younger women to be obedient to their own husbands.  Before a builder builds a community of homes, He has an architect draw a plat map for land division and floor plans for the homes with specifications.   So that there would be no misunderstanding of how a marriage is built, God, the Master Architect, created a marriage model of how it is to be assembled to resemble the relationships that make up the marriage.  If the foundation is laid according to His specifications, the marriage will thrive.   He begins by saying that God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, and man is the head of woman.  Older women are to teach younger women to be obedient to their head.  In the case of single women, they are to be obedient to Christ.  For married women, however, they are to be obedient to, in subjection to and submit to their own husbands.  Teach them that in marriage their husbands are the head of them.  Only their husbands have the distinct privilege of being their head, not their mother or father, nor siblings or friends.  Teach them that as the church is subject to Christ, that they are to be subject to their own husbands in everything.  God is the ONE who gives you the grace to be obedient to your husband.  Whether the husband is sinner or saint, teach the younger women to submit to their husbands as it is appropriate in the LORD.  If it is not appropriate in the LORD ask God to change his heart/desire; ask God to send godly counsellors to him that can minister to him in a manner that he can receive; and ask God to give him wisdom.  Teach younger women that when they submit, they are doing it as unto the LORD.  Therefore, when you put into perspective who you are really submitting to, you will see and understand that God’s grace will be sufficient to help you and in the process bring glory to God through your obedience.  Older women teach younger women to live holy, resist gossiping and being filled with strong drink, to be teachers of good things, to be clear-minded, to love their husbands and children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, and obedient to their own husbands so that the word of God will not be spoken evil of.  Write or rewrite the pages of your life and become a godly benefit to others.
