How to Make Work and Rest Co-Exist

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The 21st Century found people complaining because they concluded that there are not enough hours in a day and that they needed rest from working so hard. Jesus gave the secret to allowing work and rest to co-exist: 1.) He extended a general invitation to everyone to come to Him. He especially invited those to come who are weary from working so hard and who carry heavy burdensome loads of any kind. If you decide to come to Him about everything, He promised He would give you rest from your toiling and pain and from your Pharisees with all their oppressive rules. 2.) He said to take His yoke by uniting with Him as a single force, which will make your burdens lighter than if you worked on them alone. 3.) He said to get to know Him on a personal, intimate level. If you decide to follow His instructions, you will receive the promise of rest even while you work.

Prayer for today: Father, I accept the invitation to come and unite with you so that I may not become heavy laden from working alone, but instead partake of the rest you promised. In JESUS name, AMEN.
