The Peter Syndrome

doublemindedJames 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

A double minded person should not expect to receive anything from the LORD. Peter saw Jesus walking on the water. He said, “Lord if it is really you tell me to come to you on the water”. God is calling each of us to be single-minded, to focus on Him continuously. Peter got out of the boat with his eyes on Jesus. But along the way, he was distracted and when he took his eyes off Jesus he began to sink. We all have suffered from the Peter syndrome. Daily we encounter distractions, but our goal should be to focus on the LORD with the expectation that we will be successful at whatever He has planned for us. Start each day asking Him what His plan is so that you may align your plan with His. When we ask, He will order our steps. Ask. Winds may blow and the waves may be high, but ask, stay focused, resist double-mindedness by allowing the LORD to be your stabilizer.

Prayer for today: Father, what is your plan for me today? Help me to resist the temptation to be double minded. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
