I Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Being worldly rich presents opportunities to become highminded. Highminded means to be arrogant, conceited, or lofty in mind. Being highminded is not confined to riches, it also include accomplishments and relationships. Timothy describes a highminded person as one who is heady, a traitor and a lover of pleasures more than a lover of God. Instead of trusting in the living God, the traitor puts his trust in his accumulation of wealth. This person does not acknowledge God as the power source of wealth. God is the ONE who gives us richly all things to enjoy and He takes no pleasure in highmindedness. Humility with thanksgiving is what gets God’s attention. As you continually give God the credit that is due to Him, He will continually shower you with blessings that will make you rich in every aspect of your life without any sorrow attachments.
