To Speak or Not to Speak

black-tape-mouth-shut-no-speaking-700x45_660Luke 1:18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

For years, Zacharias, the priest and his wife, Elizabeth prayed to have a child. Now they were old and the prospect of having a child seemed hopeless. One day, he was in the temple when the angel Gabriel appeared unto him with a message from God. He said, “Don’t fear, Zachariah. Your prayer has been heard. Elizabeth, your wife, will bear a son by you. You are to name him John. You’re going to leap like a gazelle for joy, and not only you—many will delight in his birth. He’ll achieve great stature with God.” When Zacharias questioned and doubted God, his vocal chords were blocked so that he could not speak. Though you have prayed for a while now, other than praising and thanking God, it would be better to put a self-imposed block on your vocal chords and thoughts rather than to think and speak doubt. Know that God has heard you. He is faithful and trustworthy. He delivered on His promise to them and He will deliver on His promise to you.

Prayer for today: Father, by the power of Holy Spirit, I ask for help to hold fast in faith to your promises without doubting or speaking doubt. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
