Are You an Instrument of Encouragement?

James 1:20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

We know that the Bible is the inspired word of God.  Therefore, God inspired James to tell us that there is a very important reason why God wants us to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry.  When a person is angry, there is a tendency to speak out words that do not edify the person to whom he or she is speaking.  We are encouraged to let no corrupt communications come out of our mouths but only that, which helps in the building up of the hearer.  James remind us not to speak so fast.  Instead, listen to hear the whole of the matter and to refrain from getting angry.  Why?  God knew that a person who gets angry or is in a state of constant anger will not be able to produce God’s righteous purpose in him at that most critical time that someone needs to be uplifted by His words spoken in love.  Let the LORD use your vocal cords to be an instrument of encouragement.

Prayer for today:  Father, I humbly surrender to the power of Holy Spirit to be your instrument of encouragement today.  In JESUS’ name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
