Make It Grow

unity-in-the-body-of-christEphesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Christ is the head of all things.  He used the human body to explain how He strategically joined together the many parts of the body of Christ to work effectively, to make the body grow and to continually build itself up in love.  He designed the body to consist of many parts, but still there is only one body.  The ear cannot say, because I am not the eye, I am not a part of the body.  If the whole body were an eye, where would be hearing be?  God set every member in the body as it pleased Him.  Therefore, no one part of the body was designed to everything.  If one part of the body tries to do everything, it hinders the rest of the body.  How?  It would deny the other parts that God designed to supply their purpose and eventually destroy the body. Stop trying to do everything.  That’s not your purpose.  Trust God and let all the parts supply their purpose.  When all the parts are allowed to function, it eliminates schism in the body and promotes harmony.

Scripture Reference:  Ephesians 4:15-16; I Corinthians 12:14-27

Prayer for today:  Father, help me to consistently work in harmony with all the parts of the body in whatever setting you have called me to.  In JESUS’ name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

 Love
