Preciseness

shepherd-staffNumbers 20:18 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

The ability and desire to follow instructions are rapidly disappearing.  There is a tendency to think that following God’s instructions is somehow restrictive.  Moses was given precise instructions on how to get water for the people and animals to drink.  God’s instructions were: 1.) Take the rod; 2.) Gather the people together along with Aaron; 3.) Speak to the rock.  As Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan distorting God’s instruction, which caused them to think and act contrary to God’s word, so also was his subtil influence upon Moses.  Instead of speaking to the rock, Moses hit the rock twice.  Neglecting to obey God’s instructions to you have grave consequences.  In the case of Moses, he nor Aaron entered into the Promised Land.  Your obedience in precisely following God’s instructions releases God’s blessings to you and to others.

Scripture Reference:  Numbers 20:7-12; Genesis 3:1-7

Prayer for today:  Father, as you speak, help me to hear clearly and follow your precise instructions.  In JESUS’ name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
