He Came to Perform

At one time or another, people will go to the theater to see a performance of some type.  Zacharias and Elizabeth witnessed a performance that is noteworthy. They were both righteous and walked before God in all His commandments and ordinances.  But they had no children because Elizabeth was barren, and both of them were well along in years.  The angel Gabriel appeared to Zacharias and told him that Elizabeth would give him a child and his name would be John, the forerunner of Jesus.  In disbelief, Zacharias asked, “How shall I know this, for I am an old man, and my wife is old too?  Because he did not believe what he was told, he was stricken with silence and could not speak.  After the birth of John, Zacharias’ tongue was released and he spoke once again.  Being filled with the Holy Ghost, he confirmed through prophecy that the LORD would visit and redeem his people; He would be the horn of salvation, who would save us from our enemies and from the hand of all that hate us; He would perform the mercy promised and remember his holy covenant with father Abraham; He would give knowledge of salvation unto us by the remission (pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, freedom) of sins through Jesus Christ; He would give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death and guide our feet into the way of peace.  Our responsibility is not to doubt.  Rather, it is to believe that Jesus came to perform, redeem and save us.  Let Jesus’ performance be manifested in your life today and forevermore.

Prayer for today:  Father through Jesus Christ, I believe that you performed redemption and salvation on an old rugged tree just for me. I receive your gift of grace and now I am forgiven and made free.  In JESUS’ name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
