Humility: The Attention Getter
Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
No matter what your station in life is humility comes before honor and pride before failure. Though King Solomon inherited great riches, money could not buy what he needed from God. So, he humbled himself and asked for wisdom and knowledge. In his estimation wisdom and knowledge to rule over the kingdoms of people, he had also inherited was of far greater value than wealth. Humility according to Noah Webster 1828 dictionary is a deep sense of one’s own unworthiness in the sight of God. Humility is acknowledging that without the LORD’s help, one is surely doomed to fail. Because Solomon did not ask for worldly possessions, the life of his enemies, or long life, he got God’s attention and his prayer was granted. Solomon’s humility moved the heart and hand of God. He gave Solomon wisdom, knowledge, and honor and even more wealth and riches than all the Kings of his day. Godly wisdom and knowledge are necessary for success in your home and in your world. For diligently seeking God’s way of doing things, first and living righteously before Him with an attitude of humility will bless God’s heart and open up His hand of blessings unto you.
