No Lack for the Sheep!

Shepherd-and-his-flockPsalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

David was an expert in “sheep-ology”. As a young lad, David was the shepherd of his father’s sheep. He learned that sheep are totally dependent upon a shepherd to care for and faithfully watch over them.  The shepherd provides food, guidance, protection, health care and rest for his sheep. Left alone, the sheep become lost and hungry; their rest and peaceful state become agitated, and they become easy prey for their enemies. Sheep have no worries because they trust their shepherd. What made David a successful shepherd also made him a successful sheep. David took the lowly position of a sheep and declared that what he had provided for them, the LORD provided for him even more abundantly. He declared that the LORD was his Shepherd and he lacked no good thing. David’s declaration can be your declaration. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He is willing to give you everything you need. The psalmist wrote, “I Need Thee Every Hour”; let the Good Shepherd meet all your need(s) according to His riches in glory. The LORD will also give you the desires of your heart when you delight yourself in Him and commit your ways to Him. He has obligated himself by His word to bring it to pass. Consider becoming a sheep of the Good Shepherd today. You can trust Him to take care of you.

Prayer for today: Father, I need you. I ask you to come into my heart. I humbly commit my ways to you and receive you as my LORD and my Shepherd. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
