Teaching From Your Book of Life, Part 1

my-brothers-keeperTitus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Teaching is a profession that is not chosen by many. However, we are all teachers whether we like it or not, good or bad, we have been called to teach God’s principles. Some will rise to the challenge and some will abdicate their responsibility. You say teaching is not your career choice, but you are teaching someone every day by your words or by your actions. Be mindful of what you are teaching. Paul recommended that you teach the following: Teach them 1.) Clear-mindedness, to resist the urge to be intoxicated and to avoid negative influences. 2.) Respect your Heavenly Father, to respect themselves and to respect others. 3.) Self-control by demonstration and by your speech. 4.) Wisdom by the power of Holy Spirit and to retire their human wisdom and only speak that which is led by the Spirit. 5.) Soundness in faith. In other words, teach wholeness and balance in their spirit, soul, and body with nothing missing, nothing broken and without doubt or wavering. 6.) Soundness in love, that unconditional love that comes from above. 7.) Finally, teach patience by demonstrating your ability to stick with them until they get it right. None of these things are possible without the enduring patience of Holy Spirit, who sticks with us until we get it right. It is a process for us and for them. Trust God to empower you to become an excellent teacher of others, continually.

Prayer for today: Father, my chosen profession is not teacher. However, not my will but your will be done in me. I surrender my words and action to you to be useful as a teacher of your principles. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
