Do You Know Why?

Why silhouettes-68483_640II Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The LORD Jesus Christ is not slow in fulfilling His promises.  He promised to return and gather all who belong to Him.  He said, “…I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”.  Because Jesus has not returned, the world thinks that He is not coming.  Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security.  Jesus is coming again.  According to 2 Peter 3:9 there are three reasons why Jesus has not returned.  1.)  He is longsuffering to us-ward, which is to say because He loves us, His patience is long when it comes to us.  Because of Adam, mankind was born into sin.  Through the ransom Jesus paid in His blood on the cross, He provided a means of escape from our sin nature.  2.) He does not want anyone to be destroyed, nor to lose out on the Zoë, abundant life, He has prepared for us while we yet live in the earth, nor forfeit the mansion He went to prepare for us in heaven.  3.)  He desires that all should come to repentance, which is to have a change of mind.  Refuse to conform to this world’s way of thinking and doing things by being transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is good, and acceptable, and the perfect will of God.  Allow Christ to reign and rule in your inner man.  He is waiting for you to make peace with God.  Jesus is faithful to His word.  He promised that except you repent, you shall perish.  But He also promised if you confess your sins, He will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.  How great is the Father’s love for us that Jesus would wait on you and me individually before His return!

Prayer for today:  Father, I thank you for loving us.  I thank you for being patient with us.  I thank you for waiting on me and my entire family.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
