Conformed or Transformed, Which Are You?

Bumble-Bee-transformers-23564500-448-600Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

After extensively teaching the Gospel doctrine of Jesus Christ, the guilt of the world, the doctrine of salvation, and the law and grace principles, Paul appealed to the brethren.  In view of the truth concerning God’s compassion and lovingkindness, he presented further evidence of how Christians can be acceptable unto God.  In the Old Testament, God winked at sin by allowing the chief priest to make sacrifices for the people’s sin using the blood of animals.  Jesus Christ, the perfect Lamb of God, blood was shed in the New Testament once and for all times to secure the remission of sin forever.  No longer do priest have to offer blood sacrifices.  A songwriter once wrote these lyrics:  “There is a fountain filled with blood, Drawn from Immanuel’s veins, And sinners plunged beneath that flood. Lose all their guilty stains”.  After taking the plunge to allow the blood of Jesus to cover you, you can now present your body as a living sacrifice, which is the least of the services you can render to God.  Now when God looks at you, He only sees the cleansing blood of Jesus.  Jesus’ blood is what makes you holy and acceptable, for in Him you were made the righteousness of God.  Two commands are presented to the brethren:  1.) You can continue to live a defeated life by conforming to the world’s way of doing things, which is in direct contradiction to God’s ways, or 2.) You can be transformed, made a new creature, one that has never existed before by allowing God to recreated, regenerated your spirit by renewing your mind.  The blood of Jesus and the transformation of your mind is proof to you and to the world what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.  Conformed or transformed, which are you?

Prayer for today:  Father, I submit my mind, will, and emotions to be transformed by you daily.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
