You Can Have What You Say!

Faith imagesXXRXXGA1Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hunger overtook Jesus and the disciples.  They spotted a fig tree with lush green leaves in the distance.  Hoping to eat from the tree, when they arrived they found no fruit.   Jesus began to speak to the fig tree.  He said, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.”  At the point that Jesus spoke to the tree the process of drying up at the root began.  The next time they passed by the fig tree, it had dried up from the root. Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. (NLT)  The disciples could not see what was happening to the root system of the tree.  Peter calling to remembrance said unto him, Master, look, the fig tree which you cursed is withered away.  Jesus responding said to them, “Have faith in God.”  In other words, have faith in the word of God spoken out of your mouth.  God does not honor your words; He honors His word spoken by you.  In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus said, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.  In children’s church, we teach Mark 11:23-24 in a way that the children can understand.  We say if you speak God’s word; if you have faith to believe and do not doubt in your heart; and you forgive people, then you can have what you say.  As Jesus spoke to the fig tree, you can speak to trouble, your body, your finances, etc. in faith.  At the point that God’s word is spoken by you, you will cause angels to fly to fulfill God’s word.  It’s really true; you can have what you say when you meet the conditions.  You, who believe have been given dominion to reign and rule over every situation and circumstance by faith in the word of God.

Prayer for today:  Father, all your words are true.  Thank you for the privilege of having what I say according to your word.  Help me, I pray, to speak your word in faith over everything that concerns me as well as the desires of my heart.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
