Getting to Know You!
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
In the movie the “King and I”, Julie Andrews sang, “Getting to Know You”, getting to know all about you. In an effort to comfort His troubled disciples, Jesus declared that He is the way, the truth, and the life and that no man comes to the Father except by Him. He further said, “… if you had known me, you would have known my Father also”. God revealed himself in the person of Jesus Christ because He wanted them and us to know Him. Next, Jesus made a statement that made Philip question his personal relationship with Him. Jesus said, “…From now on, you do know him [the Father] and have seen him!” Puzzled by that statement, Philip asked Jesus to show him the Father. Jesus revealed that Philip really did not know Him. He said have I been with you all this time and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? There were multitudes of people who followed after Jesus because of what He could do for them, but they did not know Him. To know is from the Greek word ginóskó, which is to be resolved, to be sure, to have absolute personal intimate knowledge of Him. God desires that daily one-on-one personal intimate interaction with you so that you can get to know Him, His word, which is His will, and His love for you. He wants you to “Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations”. (Deut.7:9 AMP) Get to know Him personally so that you may pass it on to help all your future generations to know Him.

Prayer for today: Father, thank you for giving me another day to get to know you better, to know your faithfulness, and to experience your steadfast love for my family and me. In JESUS name, AMEN.
Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
