Increase Your Bulb Wattage

Increase Your Bulb Wattage bombillosMatthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Some folk have to see with their natural eyes before they can see with their spiritual eyes. Seeing is not faith. Believing and acting upon what you believe is faith. When Jesus enters into the heart, He deposits light. The song: “This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine,” does not completely express God’s intentions. You may start with a little light, but the expectation is that your light will become powerful enough to light the world. Driving from Jackson to Meridian, Mississippi on I-20 East, on a certain hill you can see the bright lights of the city in the distance through the darkness. The lights illuminate the sky and point to the work involved in making the city ahead visible. When Jesus returned to His own city, some folk brought a paralytic man lying upon a bed to Him to be healed. Jesus commended them for their faith in action. Then He said to the man with the palsy, “Your sins are forgiven”.  Jesus commanded the man to arise, walk, and go home. “And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.” (Matthew 9:7-8) Because Jesus is the light of the world, you who believe are joint heirs with Him and as such you are now the light and preserver of the world. Why did this particular healing take place? 1) To encourage you to let your light shine before men. 2.) So that men may see your good deeds. 3.) To glorify your Father which is in Heaven. After all, it is the Father’s light shining through you to give you the power to light and enlighten the world about the saving grace of Jesus, and to give the Father glory. Increase your bulb wattage; don’t hide the brightness of the light; let it shine brighter and brighter with each passing day; and, give God the glory.

Prayer for today: Father, I ask for a daily anointing of your power so that I may let my light shine before men, that they may see my good works, and glorify my Father, which is in heaven. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
