Does It Line Up?

thumbs dt_common_streams_StreamServerI Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

(Continuation from the title: “Don’t Hate It”) Paul continued with number 21 of the 22 commands and admonitions to the brethren at Thessalonica.  21.) Test all things; retain the good.  Simply test everything by the word of God.  If one’s prophesying over you or to you perfectly aligns with God word, keep it in your heart until you see the manifestation.  Otherwise, if it does not line up, cast it as far away from you as you can.  Brethren, be careful who you allow to prophesy over you whether it is simple prophecy or revelatory prophecy.  Simple prophecy is edifying, encouraging and comfortable.  But beware that your adversary can build you up, encourage, and make you feel good or comfortable about doing that which is contrary to God’s word if you let him.  Just because the prophecy sounds good or feels good is not an indicator that it is good.  Revelatory prophecy is prophesying about future events to correct or bless.  Test the prophecy whether it is good or bad, true or false.  Good is what God has said about you and planned for you in His word.  Good means what is genuine and true according to God’s word.  Hold on to that and live.
