Evil for Evil or Vindication, Which is It?

vindication-coverI Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Paul was relentless with the list of 22 commands and admonitions.  He wanted the brethren at Thessalonica to understand that there is a lifestyle that pleases God, which does not include evil acts. (Continuation from the title: “Every-Day Patience”)  14.) Render evil to no man.  Just because someone has perpetrated evil against you, does not give you the right to retaliate.  God instructed Moses to tell the people to stand still and see the salvation of the LORD and not to be afraid. That He, himself would fight for them.  They just needed to hold their peace.  We understand that salvation means deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity, health, help, save, saving (health), welfare.  Why waste your precious breath talking against your enemy? Why exert unnecessary energy thinking of things to say or plotting ways to defeat your enemy?  “Vengeance is mine”, saith the LORD.  He is your shield and your salvation.  He is the one who vindicates, defends and justifies you.  When you refuse to render evil for evil, stand still through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, and get out of the way so that the LORD is free to do what He does, then, you will see His salvation.

Prayer for today:  Father, I am eternally grateful that you are my shield and the horn of my salvation and I do not need to fight.  I trust you to fight for me.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
