What Does Your Faith Meter Say About You?

Meter MTR-23-311_lgI Thessalonians 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Paul’s observation of the brethren in Thessalonica compelled him to continue with the outline of the 22 commands and admonitions. (Continuation from the title: “Seek Peace and Salvation.”) 10.) Support the weak. The “weak” was not a reference to those, who were sick or diseased. The reference was to those who were weak in faith. The weak can be likened to the seed sown on stony ground. Stony ground refers to a stony heart, which immediately receives the word of God with joy. But when trials, trouble, and persecution comes that heart endures for a little while because it has no root and a falling away from the faith occurs. Faith requires diligence and perseverance. Trials, trouble, and persecution require strong faith. Those who are strong in faith are to take the weak under their wings to mentor and nourish so that they will register high on the faith meter. Older men and women, who are strong in the faith, are to teach young men and women, respectively. On a scale of 0-10 with 0 being weak and 10 being strong, what does your faith meter register?  To be continued.

Scripture Reference: I Thessalonians 5:13; Matthew 13:20-21; Titus 2:1-7

Prayer for today: Father, I ask for the help of Holy Spirit to diligently and persistently register high on my faith meter. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
