Love in Action, Part II

I-Love-You-PicsMatthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

When my husband was being trained for ministry, our pastor would always say to him, “You have got to love people”. The second great commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. Your neighbor may not be neighborly. Your neighbor may, in fact, be your enemy. But you still have to love him/her. Loving includes praying righteous prayers. Scripture says not to sin against God by not praying for them. Pray that God may give to them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened in order that they may know the hope to which He has called them and know the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people.  You are His holy people. Therefore, love itself is an inheritance which produces the riches of God’s glory. Embrace this truth and pray for your neighbor.

Scripture References: Matthew 22:36-39; I Samuel 12:23-24; Ephesians 1:17-18

Prayer for today: Father God, you are love and your desire is that I love you, my neighbor and myself. Help me to embrace this truth at all times. In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that. Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
