L.O.V.E. — Living Our Values Everyday

Matthew 22:36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

To truly know how one should live is summarized in two great commandments of the Law.  The great and foremost commandment is to love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  The second commandment is to love your neighbour as yourself.  If one understood and carried out these two, one would not be guilty of disrespecting God or his neighbor and expressing the highest form of love.  There is a call to embrace this truth.  Deuteronomy tells us that these commandments are to be on our hearts.  We are to teach them diligently to our children, talk about them when we sit down with them, talk about them when we walk with them and when they go to bed and get up.  Tie these commandments on their hands, put them where they can see them at all times: on their forehead, doorpost of your house and on your gates.  Every moment is a teachable moment.  Why? We do this so that they, as well as us, may experience the God-kind of abundant, glorious life.

Scripture References:  Matthew 22:36-39; Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Prayer for today:  Father God, you are love and your desire is that I love you, my neighbor and myself.  Help me to embrace this truth at all times.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
